I thought I would post the books I am reading, those I listen to on audiobooks, and the occasional ebook in which I partake via mobipocket reader. I love to read, and spent a number of years being unable to, which was very difficult. I am so happy with my returned ability to appreciate the written word and I particularly enjoy nonfiction. Books are the nutrients which keep my brain active and healthy. Books let me travel the world over, live other lives, experience misery and glory. Books provide me with know-how, how-to, and broaden my scope of understanding and respect. Books are all that and a bag of chips!

Audiobooks provide me with such simple pleasure. If there is no CBC radio show on in which I am interested while in my car, I open my audiobook. Listening to a pleasant voice narrating a book as I drive is profoundly satisfying. As I mentioned in a previous post, I download most of my audiobooks onto my ipod from audible.com.

bookmooch1Another fantastic reading resource is bookmooch.com. As a bookmooch member, I created an inventory of books I am willing to provide to others and a wishlist of books I would like to receive. Exchange happens by way of the postal system and is based on a point system. It is an ideal way to recycle books and to obtain books in a cost-efficient manner. Books that are too heavy, and thus too expensive to send by mail, I simply donate to my local library. Become a bookmoocher, you won’t be disappointed.
